MyPC

I had always been interested in computers that is why i took computer science and engineering branch in my engineering. After talking admission in the b.tech i decided to buy i computer at that time i had little knowledge about the computers so as to enhance my knowledge and enjoy with it as well. So i got a second hand Compaq computer for 10,000 actually very cheap at that time. It was a low configuration pc with celoron processor 64 mb ram and a simple cd reader but i engoyed with it a lot stored a lot of song with that 20 gb memory but after some while its conditon got bad and due to it low configuration i was not able to install new softwares

I used to regularly install different versions of windows in it. From windows 98 to windows xp. My friend used to enjoy watching me installing me. They used to call my computer “PARAM”. I was not able to play games in it nor able to store songs due to its small memory .but it did helped me a lot in increasing my knowledge of the computer. So they I decided to buy a new computer with a nice configuration. So I searched a lot about the best configuration in a nominal prize and came up with best valued configuration that comprised of Amd Athlon 3000+ processor , two 256 MB Ram in a dual channel mode 80 GB SATA harddisk nForce4 motherboard and NVIDIA Geforce 6200 graphics card

I used to live in hostel and I was about to by first AMD pc in the hostel never ever before I or any of my friends had watched amd’s performance. So I was about to take a great risk .Finally got the money from my parents and buyed it from Delhi. The rest configuration was not much important to me. So I decided about rest configuration then and there .I brought it back to my hostel all of my friend’s were waiting then and there for the new computer. I installed windows xp professional edition in it. The computer was working fine and more exactly great. Soon I installed games in it they ran with great graphics and the display was really nice I stored my English songs in it and started to enhance my collection. It was a perfect multimedia pc with songs, movies, games and videos in it. But after some time I started collecting some interesting e-books too regarding my course and other materials too.

The best part about it was that I used to play a lot of games on it like strategy, mission, racing, first person shooter, third person shooter and many more and the most I enjoyed was that I and my friend had connected our computers through a hub establishing a LAN network we used to play Unreal Tournament, Age of Empires and Counter strike: condition zero on it ultimately we had a lot of fun on it. I love my pc and I find it hard to live without it. It gave me enjoyment and knowledge

both as did some programming and made projects on it as well. love my pc and I find it hard to live without it.

Cell processor

During my engineering i gave a presentation on the topic cell processor. So i thought of sharing this information regarding this technology. This is as follows Cell is a microprocessor architecture jointly developed by a Sony, Toshiba, and IBM alliance known as STI. The architectural design and first implementation were carried out at the STI Design Center over a four-year period beginning March 2001 on a budget reported by IBM as approaching $400 million. Cell is a shorthand for Cell Broadband Engine Architecture, commonly abbreviated CBEA in full or Cell BE in part. Cell combines a general-purpose Power Architecture core of modest performance with streamlined coprocessing elements which greatly accelerate multimedia and vector processing applications, as well as many other forms of dedicated computation. The major commercial application of Cell is in Sony's upcoming PlayStation 3 game console which is slated to launch in November 17, 2006 (in the US). Mercury Computer Systems has a dual Cell server, a dual Cell blade configuration, a rugged computer and a PCI Express accelerator board available in different stages of production. Toshiba has announced plans to incorporate Cell in high definition television sets. Exotic features such as the XDR memory subsystem and coherent EIB interconnect [1] appear to position Cell for future applications in the supercomputing space to exploit the Cell processor's prowess in floating point kernels. The Cell architecture breaks ground in combining a light-weight general-purpose processor with multiple GPU-like coprocessors into a coordinated whole, a feat which involves a novel memory coherence architecture for which IBM received many patents. The architecture emphasizes efficiency/watt, prioritizes bandwidth over latency, and favors peak computational throughput over simplicity of program code. For these reasons, Cell is widely regarded as a challenging environment for software development. IBM provides a comprehensive Linux-based Cell development platform to assist developers in confronting these challenges. Software adoption remains a key issue in whether Cell ultimately delivers on its performance potentialDespite those challenges, the latest research in this field showed that Cell is capable of performing any type of precision scientific calculations 3 to 12 times faster than any desktop processor at a similar clock speed.

SonyPlaystation 3

The Sony Platstation 3 is one of the latest gaming console lauched last year. The console was first released in Japan. The PlayStation 3 is based on open and publicly available application programming interfaces. Sony has selected several technologies and arranged several sublicensing agreements to create an advanced software development kit for developers. This gaming console gave a new meaning to the word of gaming.
Regarding the configuration it comprises of following:
Sony also confirmed the PlayStation 3 will use Blu-ray discs as its media format. The discs can hold up to six times as much data as current-generation DVDs. It will also support CR-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R formats.
Sony also confirmed that the machine will be backward compatible all the way to the original PlayStation.
It will also have slots for Memory Stick Duo, an SD slot, and a compact flash memory slot.
Sony also laid out the technical specs of the device. The PlayStation 3 will feature the much-vaunted Cell processor, which will run at 3.2GHz, giving the whole system drasstik improvement of overall performance. It will sport 256MB XDR main RAM at 3.2GHz, and it will have 256MB of GDDR VRAM at 700MHz.
Sony also unveiled the PS3's graphics chip based on Nvidia technology. The GPU will be capable of 128bit pixel precision and 1080p resolution--some of the highest HD resolution around. The chip also has 512MB of graphics render memory and is capable of performing heavy operation. As for the facts it also has more than 300 million transistors, larger than any processor commercially available today. It will be manufactured using the 90nm process, with eight layers of metal. The RSX(Reality Synthesizer-the graphic processor also termed as GPU i.e graphical processing unit) is more powerful than two GeForce 6800 Ultra video cards, which would cost roughly $1,000 total if purchased today.
The main feature of the PlayStation 3 is its processor the Cell processor :The Cell Broadband Engine—or Cell as it is more commonly known—is a microprocessor designed to bridge the gap between conventional desktop processors (such as the well known Pentium/PowerPC families) and more specialised high-performance processors, such as nVIDIA and ATI graphics-processors (GPUs). The name belies its intended use, namely as a component in current and future digital distribution systems; as such it may be utilised in high-definition displays and recording equipment, as well as computer entertainment systems for the HDTV era. Additionally the processor should be well suited to digital imaging systems (medical, scientific, etc.) as well as physical simulation (e.g. scientific and structural engineering modelling). In a simple analysis the Cell processor can be split into four components: external input and output structures, the main processor called the Power Processing Element (PPE) (a two-way SMT multithreaded Power 970 architecture compliant core), eight fully-functional co-processors called the Synergystic Processing Elements or SPEs and a specialised high-bandwidth circular data bus connecting the PPE, input/output elements and the SPEs, called the Element Interconnect Bus or EIB.
Thus Sony PlayStation 3 is not just another gaming console it is the revolution of the one of the great usage of the multiprocessor from dual core to 12 core processors.

My24thBirthday

Hey, i m utkarsh and i want to share the experience of my 24th b'day experience . It was the 6th of August 2007 my b'day and eventually this was the same date for the joining of my course for my post graduation course the post graduate diploma in advance software technology the name it self denotes the difficulty of the course in one of the India's reputed institution in India.
The institution was CDAC (Center for Development of advance computing) and Formerly NCST( National Center for development of advance computing ) .On this birthday woke up in the train and the trail arrived to the Bangalore at the 11.00 a.m. i some how managed to reach to e-city by auto .There I, my father and auto person in his auto were roaming in the e-city to find the c-dac campus from post to pillar some how we managed to reached the campus and discovered that the name of the campus was not c-dac but ncst ok...!! fine i looked at the campus was nice and spacious. i registered and got the kit and found the books the books were big and fat i was from c.s. background so i found the books quit similar but Unix was new to me. but i found it good because i think that no other educational institution provide market books except from library with restricted usage. Then i went for claiming of the hostel as i was already allotted the hostel, to my big surprise i found the hostel very nice , well furnished and maintained. I was allotted room no F5 in sharing with one other person later found him to be nice person.
It was 1 'o' clock i received few papers for today timetable and i was shocked when i read that the introductory class was already over and the class of Unix is from 2 '0' clock i just sat down for 15 min to rest for a while after my two days journey then i took a quick bath and went for the class.and one thing i want to tell you that till now i haven't eaten anything from the morning on my birthday.I attained my first class of ncst found it well organised teaching from the slides but too precised. ok somehow i managed to finish my class.
It was then i came back to the room foud my father had already had lunch in the mess . and was praising it . The i went to the market took some food ate after buying some genral thing for daily usage came back to the hostel. I and my father sat for half an hour and then my father left with tears in his eyes of missing me. I also felt sad but not much i had already been away from home for four year for my engineering . I went back to the room .My room mates was not there he had alredy left for his local gaurdian was to return next day. So i sat alone in the room feeling lonely after i while i went to sleep.
That was how silent my birthday had finished. The one big days of the year gone away just like that still that day i got the greatest gift on my birthday i had ever got i chance to study in a institution like NCST.
